Default yeah competitive weakend! Lets make it permanent!

Quote:
During the weekend of August 18 to August 20, you will earn double Kurzick, Luxon, and Balthazar faction in the Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry competitive missions! Additionally, all PvP characters that have access to Factions will now be able to participate in these missions simply by talking to the special Luxon Diplomats or Kurzick Recruiters that will be located in the Great Temple of Balthazar! The double faction fun starts at Noon PDT on Friday, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday, with the PvP character access remaining open even after the event ends. Come join in the fun this weekend watch those faction points rack up!
I don't care about the double faction. I just think that openning it up to PvP characters will really introduce a lot more variety into this game and I hope they always keep it open for PvP characters. I have always wanted to try out other strategies with other characters for Aspenwood, but I don't want to go back to Jing Tea Island again. I especially don't want to see Undercity again, unless I'm doing some new tricky farming thing.

I can't do AB because I'm not really a part of a guild (I'm in a guild because I have not bothered to leave it yet). I live in Asia and most guilds seem to be in the US or Europe. But if this increases participation (especially in Jade Quarry, which I have not done yet), its a good thing. It allows us non-guildies to do AB like missions.

Edit- just noticed it said "with the PvP character access remaining open even after the event ends. " Need to read more carefully. I stand by my point...this is a very good thing.

Well...this way we appreciate it more.

Now...another cool concept...create a TA version. Then we can really see with coordinated teams who has the upper hand. With a TA version, will every Luxon team bring Well of the Profane and EoE? What will be the non-cheating counters that the Kuriks use (meaning, besides luring the Luxon turtle-guards away so they wont die yet wont attack)? Can a A/Rt with Consume Soul and Spirit walk shut dow EoE bombs? Will the Kurziks all have 2 barragers on the wall and 2 monks at the gates?

Quick question, though. What do PvP players do with Kurzick/Luxon faction? Can they trade it in for things other than Jadeit/Amber, which PvP players have no use for?

Factions are tied to your account not the character, so it will be available to any PvE char you have.

And since get Balthazar factions for those places as well, it's worth it for PvP anyway.

Donate the faction points to your guild.

I'd be interesting if they did that. I'd love a non-random form of Alliance Battles, just to see how it actually plays.

Allowing PvP characters in there: The one thing it does best (or worst) for the Missions...

Now the Leechers can just roll a pvp character and sit in the missions and you won't reconize the names.

Right now People that spend time there pretty much now "Player X...DAMN He is a Leecher" because they've played enough...Now Player X can just reroll every hour or so and that'll take most of the heat off him because not too many people friends list Leechers to detect them, and thats about the only way you can tell if "Player Y" is just a pvp rolled characteron "Player X"'s account. They can just throw 1-2 comments about "WTF LAGGGGG" in there every 5 mins or so and they'll get reported half as much.

I think A-Net want to boost the PvP aspect of Factions and to draw more players into Cantha. I don't know if it's working or not since i seen the same amount of players in AB everynight.

I just hope we get some more people into Jade Quarry, and hopefully they make it so we can have a few more battles going at a time so we don't sit around for an hour

Well they can do two things:

1) Turn it in for Jade/Amber. They can only do this if they have PvE charactar that has access to HzH or Cavalon. However, unless you're equiping a PvE for PvP, PvPers have absolutly 0 use for this.

2) Give it to your Alliance. However, the rewards of doing this is almost 0 for PvPers, because most won't be ABing much, so they won't be controling any town. If they do control a town, they need a PvE charactar, and a desire to PvE for PvE rewards to actualy make any use of it...

So, basicaly any way you look at all the Factions PvP content is really geared for PvE players. =/

yea lets all thank to anet for their "super" weekends(lets face it, no1 will play that stupid missions, no1 will play gw: factions when nightfall come out, factions were total failure in comparasion to 1 chapter of gw ).
yea we will have super, uber cool weekend , yea we can now play missions with pvp char that no1 play.

and lets see what happens when they dont fix bugs and work on some project that was doomed from begining

why dont u fix that bugs in gvg and ha, pvp is the best thing that this game has, fix that bugs in guild halls

first pic (gw204) shows our flag carrier stucked and cannot move, u can also see our flag (only letters), but where is the flag?? yes u guess its in uw, no mortal can pick except our flag carier who was stucked.
yea we lost this game, thnx u anet

second pic (gw204) shows mass err7 , only from our side, and i left alone to defend guild lord (well this was frustrating because we had to kill only their bodygurads and lord to win) thnx again anet

first problem is constantly repeating in that gh

plz anet fix pvp bugs
